About us

He grew up in Přerov, studied English and Spanish philology and translation at Palackého University in Olomouc. For a year he lived in Prague and now, for more than twenty years, he has been living and working in the Haná region, specifically in the town of Kroměříž. He mainly translates fantasy; the darker and more inscrutable, the more he likes it. He is in his element with the authors of new weird and the darkest and most deviant fantasy: Clive Barker, Thomas Ligotti, Ramsey Campbell, China Miéville, H. P. Lovecraft, Stephen King. In their stories, he thinks, is everything. He publishes some of his favorites together with his wife in the dark vaults of Carcosa Publishing.

A Sign of the Times

Born in Prachatice, living in Prague since childhood. For many years he´s been a big fan of Stephen King and probably the biggest collector in Czech Republic, when it comes to Stephen as a person. Even though translating is not his primary job, thanks to his passion the Czech edition of The Road to the Dark Tower, which he´s worked on for many months, has been published with translation of the highest quality and profesional level.
